Hi, I’m Rose Laidlow

I’m a Diploma‑qualified Early Childhood Educator with more than two decades of experience, but more importantly, I’m someone who loves working with children. My journey began back in 2003 when I worked after‑school shifts at a local childcare centre while finishing Year 12. I had an inkling then that it would become a huge part of my life — here I am, 23 years later, still doing what brings me joy every day.

At home, I’m surrounded by my most important asset in life, my family — my husband Brett, our three boys Ryan, Ben and Matty, and our very enthusiastic golden retriever, Oakie. They keep life full, fun, and always interesting.

When our own children were little, the idea of leaving them in someone else’s care never felt right for us. That feeling is what led me to Family Day Care 18 years ago. I wanted to create a home environment where children could feel safe, loved, and genuinely cared for — the kind of place I would want for my own children.

After taking time off to welcome our youngest son, I opened Rose’s Busy Bees Child Minding in 2014 and later returned to Family Day Care in 2016.

Now in 2026, I’m proud to be providing education and care under the Whitsunday Shire Family Day Care Scheme, a service that truly reflects my values and commitment to quality.

I believe childhood should be full of wonder, discovery, and joy. Children learn best when they feel secure, respected, and connected — and that’s exactly what I aim to provide.

My practice is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which focuses on:
• Belonging — feeling safe, valued, and part of our Busy Bees family
• Being — enjoying the moment and learning through play
• Becoming — growing into kind, confident, capable little people

Every day at Busy Bees is a blend of routine, flexibility, and fun. Children enjoy a variety of experiences such as, art, craft and creative play, cooking and sensory activities, water play and experiments, music, dancing, stories and group time and lots of outdoor exploration time.

With a small group of children, I’m able to offer genuine one‑on‑one time, positive guidance, and a nurturing environment where learning happens naturally. I want every child who walks through my door to feel safe, welcomed, and excited to be here.

My home is your child’s home away from home — a place filled with love, warmth, encouragement, curiosity, and connection.
