My name is Katy and I live in the Strathdickie area. I commenced with Whitsunday Shire Family Day Care as an educator in January 2006 and have been involved in the early childhood sector for over 20 years.

During this time, I have obtained my Certificate III in Children’s Services and Certificate III in Education Support. I am a married mother of four and have been a local to the area for most of my life. I strongly value open and honest communication and believe positive partnerships with families are essential to supporting children’s wellbeing and development.

One of the greatest benefits of being a Family Day Care Educator for me is the ability to work from home while managing my own business, alongside the rewarding individual achievements that come from supporting children to develop their personal skills and abilities. I enjoy watching children learn and grow, gain confidence, build friendships and develop respect for themselves and others within a caring and supportive environment.

I offer a welcoming, warm and friendly learning environment, catering to children of various ages, abilities and needs. My program follows a flexible routine designed to build on children’s strengths, support self-esteem and provide equal opportunities for all children. My environment is safe, fun and educational, promoting positive, respectful and rewarding relationships.

I operate from a purpose-built day care building located on our acreage, providing children with a dedicated learning space designed specifically for early childhood education. The service also features a dedicated outdoor playground, including a mud kitchen, swings, sandpit, fort and a variety of engaging play spaces, giving children ample opportunity to explore, create, build confidence and develop physical skills through play.
