Meet Dimple Nelson – Early Childhood Teacher (Kindy Program)
Hi everyone! My name is Dimple Nelson and I’m so excited to introduce myself as a Kindy Teacher with Whitsunday Shire Family Day Care.

I’ve been an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) for over 30 years and my passion for nurturing young minds continues to grow every day. Originally from Malaysia, I’ve proudly called Australia home for the past 17 years, moving from Melbourne to beautiful Airlie Beach in 2018 – and I absolutely love it here!

I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from the University of Southern Queensland (2004) and a Master of Teaching (Early Years) from the University of Melbourne (2011). I’m also a proud fur-mum to two gorgeous dogs, Cardy and Dom, who keep life full of love and laughter.

From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by child development and the power of play. I believe that play is at the heart of all meaningful learning – it’s how children explore, connect and make sense of the world. My approach focuses on creating a space where every child feels safe, respected and valued, where their voices are heard and their individuality celebrated.

I also believe that families, cultures and backgrounds are an essential part of each child’s learning journey. By weaving these into our daily experiences, learning becomes richer, more inclusive and deeply meaningful.
Transitioning from a kindergarten environment to a Family Day Care setting marks an exciting new chapter for me. My goal is to bring the same quality of early education into a more personal, homely and nurturing environment – where children can grow through curiosity, creativity and strong relationships.

Through the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG), I aim to guide children’s learning in a way that encourages independence, emotional well-being and a lifelong love of learning.
