DONNA – MIDGE POINT

My name is Donna and I am a local Midge Point resident. I am a mother, grandmother and I hold my Certificate III in Children's Services.

I worked previously in a childcare centre and felt that I could better serve my local community in a similar capacity. I have lived in the area for the past 21 years and have seen many changes in that time. I love looking after children and am fortunate now to be in a job that is also my passion.

Living at Midge Point I am able offer a safe, secure and caring environment for the children to develop without the noise and distraction of local traffic and community disturbances as we are set in a bush land environment on 7 ½ acres with a plethora of native wildlife at our doorstep. It is not uncommon to see kangaroos and wallabies grazing or eagles soaring whilst the children are at play in our shaded outdoor play areas.

Arts and crafts are a big part of what I am able to offer along with a comprehensive record of their child's endeavours which is always available for parents to take home and show off to their family and friends.

The school bus will stop right at our driveway so there is no hassle for parents to go out of their way to drop or collect their children at the bus stop or take that extra time off work to meet them.

Seeing young people grow and develop from infancy is by far the best benefit of being an educator. Being able to contribute and be part of that development is one of the most satisfying and rewarding feelings a person can have.

BECOME AN EDUCATOR!

Perhaps you have not been working while you care for your own children? Or you could be looking for a change of direction?

If you enjoy the company of children and want to make a difference in their lives by providing quality care and learning experiences from your own home, then family day care may be the right career choice for you.

Operating a Family Day Care business gives you a unique opportunity to work from home as your own boss, choosing the hours you work, and potentially earning a very good income.

Our coordinators are here to advise you and help you through every step of the process, not just while you are setting up, but also when your business is up and running. An educator must hold an early childhood qualification such as a Certificate III in Children's Services or higher, or be willing to study. It is a requirement that all educators hold or are working towards obtaining a minimum of Certificate III in Children's Services.

We are looking to provide Family Day Care in all areas of the Whitsunday region and we want to talk to you.
