Hello, my name is Maddy. I'm 29 years old and I share my life with my partner James and our two cats Ari & Chilli. I originally grew up in a small country town on the coast of Victoria, but with a love for adventure and travel I moved not long after I finished school. So far my life has been a bit of an adventure taking me all over the country and the world, however I’ve finally settled here in the Whitsundays.

During my travels I’ve had some pretty amazing opportunities and experiences in the childcare industry. My first job was with a childcare service that consisted of two long daycare centres, and a mobile childcare service that traveled to rural communities providing childcare to farming families. In Canberra I found myself in one of the parliament house childcare centres and in Brisbane, I worked as relief staff in a range of centres across the city before being offered a full time position where I spent the next 5 years. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

I made the move to the Whitsundays late 2020 after visiting on holiday and falling in love with the natural beauty of the place and the friendly relaxed vibe. The past year I've been working with my partner running our events business which I love, but I miss working with children terribly so I’ve decided to open my own family daycare.

 Benefits of being an educator:

I get to help children experiment, discover, explore, imagine and investigate anything and everything! The love, children have so much love to give and it just warms my soul. I also get to leave my mark on this world by educating our future generations about everything our big beautiful planet has to offer.

 What I offer:

I offer a warm and inviting play based learning environment heavily focused on nature play and getting children outdoors. I aim to invoke children’s natural curiosity within my environments, spiraling us into a beautiful and exciting learning journey based on the children’s interests. I believe a child’s classroom shouldn’t be limited by four walls and will go on any adventure where there is learning to be had!

If you enjoy the company of children and want to make a difference in their lives by providing quality care and learning experiences from your own home, then family day care may be the right career choice for you.

Operate your Family Day Care business and enjoy the unique opportunity to work from home as your own boss, choosing the hours you work, and potentially earning a very good income.

Our coordinators are here to advise you and help you through every step of the process, not just while you are setting up, but also when your business is up and running.
